As the final original available from this collection, Closeness is about finding your safe harbor. While the central feeling is one of intimacy and comfort, look closely into the night sky and you’ll find a bit of wacky disturbances—a raccoon, a squirrel, and bats. I painted it because life doesn't go quiet just because it's dark outside. It represents the beautiful reality of relationships: the world can be a bit chaotic and wild around us, but we can still find a quiet, protected space in the people we love.
